PEBC gives a certificate to people who pass the Pharmacy Technician Qualifying Exam, which shows that they are ready to start working as a pharmacy technician (knowledge, skills and abilities needed to practice safely and effectively). Based on the "Professional Competencies for Canadian Pharmacy Technicians at Entry to Practice" (NAPRA, 2014). Direct-entry candidates are people who have graduated from a pharmacy technician or pharmacist school that has been approved by the CCAPP. They can take the Pharmacy Technician Qualifying Examination right away. In this group are applicants who passed certain tests. Before taking the Pharmacy Technician Qualifying Exam, international applicants (pharmacy technicians or pharmacists who went to school overseas) must go through a new evaluation process.
