Successful completion (certification)
• Written evaluation: Required when specified by organizational, local, or state regulation. It is recommended for designated responders with a duty or employer expectation to respond in an emergency and provide first aid care.
• Performance evaluation: All students must perform required skills competently without assistance.
The ASHI Basic First Aid for the Community & Workplace program is designed for people in the community who need or want to learn basic first aid skills. Employers will be able to meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees on how to respond to and care for medical emergencies at work by using super flexible program. Individuals who need or want to acquire basic first aid skills for adults, children, or both, such as corporate and industry emergency responders, school bus drivers, adult residential healthcare workers, child care workers, teachers, parents, and babysitters. The duration of this course is about 5 hours.
